Route 34 - Goldenrod City Bound
You know what they say, "Ligneous growths or articles or plerous consistencty may fracture my osseous structure, but I abstain from a cool structurous state, and hand-launch missiles of crusted geographic material toward the connoted Behemoth."
------------
An utterly confused mind stumbled aimlessly into the light. The previous area it had been in, carried an omniscent perpetual darkness about it, and many a time did the Shinx want to turn back, and dash out. Light filtered it's way through the adjusting eyes, as the creature looked glumly about its surroundings.

With a body of water to its left, and nothing but forest to the right and behind it, the Shinx had nowhere else to go then forward.

Among other blatantly noticable things, there were two pens surrounded by fences. The first one Gaw passed held nothing, but it beamed an opening to the forest, so there was suspicion that it was to let the wild Pokemon interact with the passerby trainers.

The Shinx shuttered at the thought of such a thing. "Poor, unknowing wilds. They don't know what they are getting into, even getting remotely close to trainers." For himself, a longing for a trainer had been since passed. His reason for even coming anywhere near their kind, was specifically travel purposes. If he wanted to get away from them, he'd have to go through them.

The early dawn sun had just began to rise as the Shinx passed the second of the pens. This pen, oddly enough, contained resting Pokemon. What made it odd, though, was the fact that the pen was completely enclosed, and attached to a building. No link to the forest or the sea whatsoever. A questioning gaze filtered through the eyes of the Shinx. He tilted his head, before a quick jolt passed through his brain, and he continued on, not looking back to the pin.

"Disgraceful." Was all he'd admit to himself.

With a quickened pace, Gaw passed quickly across the fields, not even glancing toward the building. A slight look of disgust spat across his face, as the Shinx looked ahead of himself, attempting to find some sort of sign of something new.

His eyes did not meet defeat, as a large ark sat, tall and proud at the end of the path. A bit of a rushing walk met paws to the ground, and Gaw raced himself, in hope that he'd discovered what he'd been searching for since he got onto the island.

He slowed down, and found himself right beneath the arch, where the dirt path met cobblestone.

"It is real." Mouth hung slightly agape, the Shinx attempted to see the tops of the buildings before him, amass the gleam of the morning sun that shone ever so brightly on the city.

"I've been told that it's the largest city in all of Johto... possibly even the world... but I'd never imagined something like this.

Goldenrod City..."

Ace watched the shinx as he made his way to Goldenrod City. Ace stayed hidden in the forest.

It had been three days since Ace escaped from his horrid owner. Bruises and marks were still visible on his body from his last beating. He didn't want to make contact with the shinx, so he watched waiting for the moment to pass by unseen.

As sson as the shinx began to look interested in the city, as if he had never seen it, Ace made his way across the road.

"OW!" Ace's right leg began to throb in pain. He was hoping the shinx did not hear him. "Ow! It hurts to much!" Ace fell over from the pain and then looked at his leg. There was a large cut and it was bleeding bad. "Why didn't I notice that earlier?"

"Hmm..." Gaw looked amazed at the architectural marvels that even humans, the one's who made these things, took time out of their lives to act like they care.

Rustling in the forest to the right of Gaw finally came to frontal attention. He almost considered going to find out what had caused his dismay, but the sites pulled him back into focus.

He took not four steps into the city, standing tall and proudly arrogant, before dropping to the ground in fear. Quiet, as in the distance, but still audible, as if close enough to spring on him, Gaw heard a shout.

He regathered himself, and finally sprung into action. Looking to the left, Gaw saw a bit of railing presumably used to guard off the forest from city dwellers. Opportunity lit in his eyes, and he dashed to the railing, quick to hide stalkishly behind it. He glared everywhere across the pathway, trying to find what had emit the sound.

Ace looked at the cut on his leg. It was pretty bad. He didn't want to trust anyone at any time, especially now. But the wound wouldn't stop bleeding.

He dragged himself until he was out in the open and shouted out the Shinx. "Hey you! I need help!" Ace waited, hoping that he was heard. Which was a first.

I don't know how to deal with this, this contradiction...
Hey! Perfect!
...
The first thing that drew his attention was movement. Gaw saw a Pokemon of sorts crawl out from a section of the forest that he hadn't noticed.

"Hmph. What could it possibly want that would force it to crawl out into the middle of a path and shout for me...?"

Gaw thought for the moment, seemingly on the edge of decision. His weakness for Pokemon in need, or whatever the... Pokemon was after, played one part. But his fear that the Pokemon was ready to attack was another.

A brisk breeze rolled by, and Gaw decided to make his move. Although it was completely mental, and most likely a mistake, Gaw moved in to aide the Pokemon in whatever it'd needed. A few steps away, Gaw slowed to a steady pace, reeling to his forepaws to slink in, giving him the upper advantage, should the opposing Pokemon choose to attack.

"What could you possibly need, stranger? And better yet, how did you know I was there?" Gaw questioned, interrogatively from a few steps away. He was still unable to see what possibilities there were in the Pokemon's needs, but he could identify the Pokemon as a Quilava.

Ace looked at the Shinx.
"My name is Ace. I'm sorry, but I was watching you so I could slip by when you didn't notice."

Ace grimmaced from the pain in his leg. The blood had ran down and was making a small puddle on the floor.
"My leg. I didn't notice until now. ouch, I hope its not too late to do something."

Ace waited, hoping that the shinx would help.

Aye be baaaack~!
...
"Oh kay... Ace. Quite frankly, and I hate to say this, but I hadn't noticed you at all. The forest lines Goldenrod; you could have easily gone around."

Gaw inspected the Quilava a bit more closely. He'd scented something from a distance, and hadn't known the source. It seemed to grow stronger the closer he got to the opposed. More credibly, the lower.

He sniffed a bit around the stranger Pokemon, quick to notice the pool of blood conjuring on the ground.

"Whoa there," Gaw exclaimed speedily on the pull back, "what crowd have you been messing with?"

A thousand pardons to anyone involved in the making of the RP, but this kind of dickish-ness takes a lot of time and dedication, as well as the right mood, to develop.
...
"Typical." Gaw stated, giving a quiet sigh. "Well, as much as I'd really like to just walk away right now, I can't leave you looking like that." He took an inspection of the wound, sizing it up before taking the bandana wrapped ever so neatly around his neck to fumble with a make-shift gauze.

"Any certain place you'd planned on going upon desertion of your trainer? I mean, I'm sure you'd developed a plan of sorts before leaving, knowing how 'hard' you thought the world was going to be." Gaw turned back to the city, hopeful eyes lustfully scrounging the sight.

"But it seems that your trainer's behavior has led you to a hasty retreat, resulting in your... anemic state. Not very smart, especially to approach someone like me, who could very well kill you right now. The more of my time you waste now, the more time I spend around humans; and I do dread my time with the humans. That, and you'd be a deadweight. Your tactless behaviour, as well as your wound put you at a disadvantage in battles, so you would be more of a burden than a grace.

"You're welcome to come with me, but I don't like you. Nor do I plan to ever like you. Not to even consider you an acquaintance. So hop on the wagon, knowing that all I will do the whole way 'round, is complain about your presence. That is, if you didn't already have plans, which I'm sure you took the time away from living a life void of acceptance and reassuring limitless possibility to even consider taking the time to attempt to coexist with those demons even for a moment to do."
...
I'm liking this side of him... It's befitting.
And don't worry. He is just playing with you. Every new person is a new opportunity, am I wrong?
You'll get your minutes of fame.

(Sorry I haven't been on lately. My internet has been giving me the whole "I don't want to work for you" treatment)

Ace looked at the shinx with a confused look.
"Just as bad as my owner, except you haven't hit me or thrown me down a flight of stairs yet. I though other Pokemon would treat me better than this. Not perfectly though."
Ace tried to walk, but instead of walking he was more or less hobblng.
"Ow! Dammit! I did have a plan. And it was to come here to Goldenrod. My father lives with his trainer here. But that was about five years ago."
Ace began to move ahead of Gawain.
"I can feel you are a better Pokemon than you show yourself as."
Ace sat down again waiting for Gawain to reply to what he had just said.
"I don't like you either, but first impressions can really turn so I will follow you."

-Finds it eerily difficult to trip over rocks without legs.-
I 'Less than three' the replies though. More than most life itself... What? >:/
...
"I'm not good. I am what you see, and expecting anymore than that is just silly. I don't know how long I'm going to be able to put up with you."

Gaw sat, eyes closed. 'To make any of this work out, I've got to stay unresponsive. Or better, lacking in compassion or sympathy.'

"I'm going to have to shy away from pity with you, aren't I? I feel that you're someone who thrives on that type of thing, given all the attention your trainer gave you."

Well, we don't have much further to go, and then you can look for your sorry father and leave me out of your life. The quicker, the better. Let's get going."

Gaw began walking, making due a safe distance from Ace the Quilava. "And by the way, if you are traveling with me, you have to keep pace. I don't care if all of your limbs are broken, you walk with your teeth and tail."

A sound preened Gaw's ears. He tensed, leaning to the ground. "What was that?" He whispered, eyes darting every which way.

"Identify yourself!"

Ace followed Gawain the best he could.
"As long as I get to see if my Father is still here. He's a Typhlosion named Dart."
Ace soon completely forgot about the pain and kept an even pace behind Gaw. He then looked into the trees.
"By the way, I think that noise came from over there."

What's with the Casino Game references? I feel the sudden urge to play some Crapshoot.
l3$$Th4NThR33 the reply.
...
"Hmm, and he will be there, whether he's there or not. Now hush."

Gaw slunk down toward the treeline, keeping a few feet from the source of the sound. He cautiously peered around, sensing that whatever was there, still was. He reeled back, and, using all the force he could, pounced blindly into the space. His paws made contact, sinking into something soft.

"Ugh... Should've known this'd happen. Better than a Muk I suppose. State your business, Ditto. Why were you stalking us?"

Gaw looked back to the Quilava. "And what is with everyone coming after me? I mean, I know I'm high class, I can't blame you, but, and I know it's hard to believe this, but there are others that are better to stalk. How about you guys go after each other? Speaking of intruding my personal life..."

The sounds of the forest stood, an attempt by nature to mask any other potential predators. It seemed moreso than earlier that nature played against Gaw. 'I mean, come on. Concealing two unjustly motivated predators to my location? What else are you hiding?'

"Anyone else? Hm? Speak now, or eternally hold your tongue." Gaw shouted into the darkness, almost, if not ever more paranoid.
...
Yum. Reading intensely about things with cars that I will never remember again in my life. The First 48... Damn your clever perception.
Now's the time for anyone else whom wants to join in on the RP. I'm sure you all have your own devious ways of joining into stories, you know, jumping poor, innocent kittens at the crack of dawn.

Gaw looked down, pressing harder against the Ditto. "No no no, you tell me what you were doing following us. And it's got to be better than his answer." He nodded back to the Quilava.

"Nobody is just out, especially in this area. It's way too early for either of you to be out, but he's hurt, so obligation has me taking care of him. You on the other hand, I could massacre you right now. I'll say this again... State your purpose."

"Hmph. Whatever. You just take your hide and back out of here. The Quilava is fine, and I thank you for caring, but it's enough that I have to tug him around. I do not need you holding up the back of the line."

Gaw stepped off the tail of the Onix, shaking his head. He went back to the path, and took a few steps, taking a look over his shoulder toward the Onix, still a bit paranoid.
...
Man, it's raining like crazy outside. Nonstop lightning.

"Fine then. Since the two of you have lost me so much time, the both of you are going to have to keep speed, let's go."

Gaw sprinted past the ark, and into the city. The sun had risen at a remarkable pace, and Gaw was out to beat it to the punch. He spotted a few early rise trainers on the path ahead, and turned back to his followers.

"We cannot let them see us. I'm sure we all know what happens if they catch on to our presence. We'll have to slink around the alleys."

Gaw dashed apart from the two, diving into the alleyways best he could. Navigation of the city didn't seem hard, but the further he got, the more he doubted where he'd gotten.

Unsure of exactly where Ace was planning to look for his father, Gaw began to carefully peer through windows and streets a bit more for a Typhlosion that fit the description that he'd had, which wasn't much.

'Just something, something at all.' Gaw didn't know himself what he was truly hoping for, all he knew, was that he had a goal.

The Shinx heard a familiar voice emitting in the echoes from the alleys. He shook his head. "You've got to be kidding me."

Gaw sat for a moment, waiting for the sound to get closer. He jumped the corner, attempting to take the Ditto by surprise.

"Who do you think you are? What are you even saying? Do you want to get caught? Gah, nevermind. Come on. We have to find Ace. I'm sure he knows his way around this place better than we do, and is probably already there."

Ace hobbled as fast as he could behind the two.
"You weren't kidding when you said you would leave me behind."
Ace continued onward and found the house he was looking for.
"Finally. Now the moment of truth."
He went up to the door and realised that it was a bit open. Finding it odd, Ace slowly pushed the door open with his snout. The inside of the house was empty.
"What on earth? What's going on here?"
Ace went through the house and then noticed that the back door was open. He went out into a small garden with many different flowers and a stone. Upon closer examination he realized that the stone was a makeshift headstone. On it read-
'Dart, the best damned Typhlosion that ever lived.'
Ace stared at the writing for a bit keeping quiet. After a bit a tear ran down his cheek.
"No..."

Shinx turned the corner, quick to follow Ace's scent. Unlike before, the scent now stood still. He turned the corner, noting the ajar door. He hesitantly inspected, unwillingly hoping the Quilava hadn't gotten himself caught by something, or, nature forbid, someone.

"Ace, found anything yet?" The silent, null moving Quilava caught him off guard. "Uh, Ace? Something..." An eye caught sight of the tombstone. Gaw got a slightly closer look, reading the words best he could silently in his head. From what he'd learned, Gaw could barely make out the name 'Dart', easily the word 'Typhlosion', and the past tense verb.

"Oh... Hmm..." Gaw looked back toward Ace, catching sight of a tear fall.

Gaw reeled back, following the Quilava out the door.

"Well. What would your father have wanted you to do?" He asked, surprisingly gently. "You have already done the first half, and that is getting away from trainers, and what I hope is humans altogether. What is it you feel you should do next? A world of opportunity awaits, trust me, and this is just a rut in the road."

Gaw shaped up a bit, befittingly back to his original personality. He seemed almost embarrassed to act like he cared. "What's done is done. Mourning for your father is not going to bring him back, nothing will. I'd suggest you get back on your feet and fight back life with an iron fisted will."

Yep, that sounds about right.
