You know, that's a very good point. Well, I remember using a level 100 to beat up a level 2 or 3 wild Pokemon I saw once. The attack was super effective, and it was a critical hit. That Pokemon should not have fainted. It should have been dead.

As for secret deaths, I'm not so sure. I know that the Pokemon movies seem to favor Pokemon dying in them after the fourth one... Crying or Very sad
